“I loved that there were so many variations with no push to do the absolute maximum. It was the best I have ever felt exercising because I didn’t push myself past what was comfortable in my body!”

Let’s get strong together.
-
Lear how to stack your joints for maximum stability in a plank, how to engage your feet to stand and walk safely, and how to breathe for strength training.
-
Find squat variations that work for YOUR body, and practice them. We also look at locomotion (walking) and practice shifting load in your body from foot to foot.
-
Learn push and pull variations like wall pushups and lat pulldowns, how to make adjustments for big bellies and chests, and how to engage the movements so you can “feel it” without pain.
-
Learn how to hinge (and prep for deadlifts), with variations that feel comfortable for sensitive knees and backs. Also learn how to stabilize one part of your body while you rotate another, which strengthens ALL your core muscles.
-
Time to add weights! Learn goblet and front rack squat variations, as well as overhead press, chest press, and more, while integrating the first 4 weeks of core engagement and load distribution.
-
Good morning, deadlift, row, and more - now you can hinge and pull with added load! We demonstrate lots of adjustments to help you find the ones that feel best in your body.
-
Spice things up by adding antirotation and balance components to classic strength moves. You’ll never be bored in a plank again! After this week, you’ll start to see how strength training can have lots of variety with just a few basic moves.
-
Wrap up by learning how classic strength moves can mix & match seamlessly. Learn simple combinations of your basic strength skills, and enjoy creating your own workouts!

“loved discussing the intersection of strength training, trauma, queerness, and chronic illness. loved seeing the videos of both of you just in your house, in regular clothes, normalizing doing small amounts and still having it count.”
As always, SFAB is a trauma-informed and weight-inclusive program.
While we understand the pressure to conform to societal norms, we do not coach weight loss or aesthetics goals. Instead, we focus on building confidence, one baby step at a time.
We understand strength training can be triggering for a variety of reasons, and we provide tools on day 1 to minimize risk and maximize your sense of safety. We recommend you communicate with us frequently so we can support you in working through whatever comes up during the program.
